Stress & Keto Diets

The most important part of a keto diet is when trying to reach ketosis, the state where your body primarily burns ketones & fat for energy. If you’re too stressed out, you can prevent your body from achieving ketosis. This is because stress produces cortisol in the body, a stress hormone responsible for releasing glucose in the bloodstream – exactly what will keep the body from reaching ketosis.

If insulin & glucose levels are raised, this can prevent and stop ketosis for a few hours and even up to a few days. This is why managing stress while on a keto diet is so important. It’s understandable that following a diet can be stressful. Not to mention, all the other things you have to deal with on a day to day basis. There’s got to be a way to make things less stressful.

Try Keto Comfort Foods to Relieve Stress

One of the worst things you can do when you’re trying to follow a diet is stress eating. There are few things that feel better than indulging in comfort food. Something that is better is when you can indulge in that comfort food without feeling any guilt about the number of carbs or sugars you just ate.
